The Information Integrity Lab
How do you verify a lie designed to look like the truth?
This hands-on session puts fact-checking under the microscope. Armenian journalists and fact-checkers will demonstrate the tools, techniques and questions they use to establish what is true, and what isn’t, in an information environment increasingly shaped by AI-generated content, coordinated disinformation and sophisticated manipulation.
Rather than a conventional panel, the session will unfold through a series of short, practical demonstrations. International discussants will respond to the different approaches and tools presented, bringing perspectives from their own work in fact-checking, digital security and investigative journalism, and helping draw out the broader questions about verification, trust and how journalists can establish what is real.
The session will conclude with an open Q&A on what effective verification looks like today, and what journalists need to know as the tools for creating and manipulating information become increasingly sophisticated.
