Raffi Krikorian
Raffi Krikorian is the Chief Technology Officer at Mozilla, where he leads the push to make open source AI as capable and accessible as closed alternatives – so the future of AI is owned by the people who use it. He previously served as CTO of Emerson Collective, as the first CTO of the Democratic National Committee, as Director of Uber’s Advanced Technologies Center where he led the rollout of the first passenger-carrying self-driving car fleet, and as Vice President of Platform Engineering at Twitter.
A graduate of MIT, Krikorian is the author of Mozilla’s State of Open Source AI report, the creator of Technically Optimistic, a podcast that reached #2 on Apple’s tech charts, and publishes Owners, Not Renters, a newsletter on open source AI. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Scientific American, and the Chicago Tribune. He serves on the visiting committee of the MIT Media Lab and on the board of TUMO – one of Armenia’s great exports to the world – now reaching more than 70,000 students across centers in over a dozen countries.
