Emily Janssen

Emily has been a part of StoryCorps’ “corps” for a decade. She has personally facilitated, recorded, and preserved over 500 conversations in StoryCorps’ archive, and trained thousands of others to do the same. Committed to community-led history and media production, Emily designs programs and consults with libraries, hospitals, museums, schools, and other community organizations to embed storytelling in their programs and empower individuals with skills and resources to share their stories in their own words and on their own terms. Prior to StoryCorps, Emily worked for a decade in community programs supporting and advocating for youth and adults without permanent housing in the United States.
