Gayane Mkrtchyan

Gayane Mkrtchyan graduated from the Department of Directing at the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema in 1995, but since then she has never worked as a director, instead she has specialized in journalism. In 2001, Gayane started working as a journalist for Armeniaweek.com, in 2002-2016 for ArmeniaNow.com, at the same time writing articles for AGBU magazine. For the last five years, she has been a freelancer, cooperating with a number of international regional news organizations: iwpr.net, jam-new.net, oc-media.org, chai-khana.org. Gayane, who writes mainly on social, health, educational and human rights issues has received many awards. She values human interest stories the most.
